Families are also important to us, regardless of whether they are parents with children or grandparents with grandchildren
We call ourselves the Palatinate Mountains, but don't worry.
You will find many great bike paths along streams, through valleys or on old railway lines with us. The Hotel Burgblick as a bed & bike host offers everything a cyclist needs. We are an ideal starting point for bike tours through the Musikantenland, but also to the neighboring Saarland. We are on the Fritz Wunderlich Weg, which leads on an old railway line from Kusel to Freisen and is suitable as an entry point for every direction. You can also rent bicycles from us, from tandem bikes to trekking bikes to electric bikes, if you reserve in advance.
Fritz-Wunderlich-Weg
The FRITZ - WUNDERLICH - WEG (a monument has been placed in the name of one of the most famous sons of the Kuseler Musikantenland) runs from Altenglan via the district town of Kusel to Freisen in Saarland. Most of the 30 km long route runs on a former railway line, which means that the path can easily be used for a day tour for all user groups, but especially for less experienced cyclists and families with children.
Glan-Blies-Weg
The cross-border GLAN - BLIES - WEG runs over 130 km from Saargemünd in Lorraine through the Bliestal and across the Kuseler Musikantenland along the Glan to Staudernheim (Nahe). Wildly romantic stretches of route through almost untouched nature alternate with attractive town crossings, forest stretches and open landscape.
Mostly on and next to a former railway line, the Glan-Blies cycle path is ideal for all cyclists. Between Altenglan and Staudernheim, the path is repeatedly led next to the draisine train - on multi-day tours the opportunity to change perspective and continue cycling on rails.
The tour planning can be expanded at any time: There are connections to other large-scale connections via the Saarland cycle path, the Barbarossaweg and the Nahe cycle path.
Lautertal cycle path
The LAUTERTAL CYCLE TRAIL the rural Lautertal offers cyclists the opportunity to go on a wonderful day tour. On the approximately 40 km between the Barbarossa town of Kaiserslautern and the Veldenz town of Lauterecken, the cycle path remains mainly in the Lauter valley and is characterized by varied impressions. From the garden show in Kaiserslautern to the abbey church in Otterberg, the visitor mine in Wolfstein and the draisine station in Lauterecken, there are many interesting opportunities for cyclists to linger.
Tip: Every year on the first Sunday in August, the car-free Lautertal adventure day takes place, which guarantees the best food and entertainment for cyclists, skaters and pedestrians.
