A special kind of leisure time enjoyment

After arrival on Friday evening, we will serve you a menu with seasonal specialties.

Strengthened, after a rich breakfast buffet, equipped with a peaked cap and a packed lunch, we start.
On uneven days, you start the ride on the draisine from Altengaln to Staudernheim.
The return journey takes place by public transport.
On even days you can take public transport to Staudernheim and take the draisine back to Altenglan.

In the evening we serve you a meat skewer with potatoes and a large selection of salads.
On Sundays after the breakfast buffet, you can leisurely hike to Lichtenberg Castle and visit one of the museums.

 

From the start of the 2023 season, the handcar route will therefore be divided into two bookable routes:

1) Altenglan – Lauterecken route: We will retain the original concept on this section.
That means the start and finish will change daily (even/odd calendar days). Only one direction of travel per day.

2) Staudernheim route: The starting point for this section of the route will only be in Staudernheim.
From there you can drive to Meisenheim at most.
From time X all trolleys will turn around and return to the starting point in Staudernheim.
The concept with reversing traffic is already implemented in this way on most handcar routes throughout Germany
and works on all routes without problems.
From Staudernheim, however, only one booking with bicycle trolleys will be possible.
Electric and conference trolleys can only be booked between Altenglan and Lauterecken.

As a guest, you have to decide when booking which part of the route you want to drive the handcar.
